I think I speak for everyone when I say, I did not see that coming! I took Ethan to school that morning b/c it was a completely normal morning.
I got a call around 10:30 (when it started to flurry) and was told they would let out at 12:00.
I left my house at 11:40 with Elly to go get him and my car did a 180 on the road by my house and it was slipping the whole way there. I was freaking out, but trying to stay calm.
On the way back from getting Ethan, what normally would take 10 min, took me an hour and 15 min.!
We tried to make the most out of the day and got to play outside a lot with our friends down the street:
Wednesday morning view from my front porch: The road was a solid layer of ice!
Around 1:00pm, Matt's friend with 4-wheel drive picked him up to take him to his car. This is what they saw! At least 20 other cars that people had abandoned! They were able to get Matt's car unstuck and back home safely:)
Matt and Ethan warming up by the fire before Matt headed back to work on Thursday:)
First time making a snowman together:)
Thank you to everyone who helped us and to everyone who helped those stranded on the roads on Tuesday night. It's times like these where the best in people shine through!
